说起Michael Wolf，多有留意摄影师动向的人似乎不会太在意他德国人的身份，有时更觉得他是一个“香港摄影师”。他最为人熟悉的摄影集《Architecture of Density》出版于2009年，比Instagram出现得还早——他可能是第一位摄影师发现彩虹邨的几何美态，更甚的却是他的相片让世人发现香港的住屋有多稠密，也有多震撼。Michael Wolf 长年定居香港，他的许多作品都在香港拍摄的，对象却是楼房、后巷、土地神主位等这些我们天天都见到，却鲜有驻足观看的事物。在Michael Wolf 的镜头下，平凡的事与人都配以冷静的精神和美学呈现，变得再也不平凡。他也有飞去港人另一个“家乡”日本，拍摄东京人繁忙时间搭铁路的挤逼惨状，以黑色幽默提醒人们，在东京生活殊不容易。今年三月的Art Central中，Michael Wolf 再有新作品示人，名为《Cheung Chau Sunrises》。在香港拍摄的日出，拍出舒畅的画意诗情，原来香港也可以看到这样的日出。本以为我们还可以期待来自Michael Wolf 更多的创意，他却于昨日（4月25日）溘然长逝于长洲家中，让人万般惋惜。他为香港以及不少摄影师带来如何观察事物的启发，成为珍贵的宝藏。撰文：周颖瑶摄影：Michael Wolf，由Blue Lotus Gallery 提供
